This is the “Zemełka House,” located in the market square in Konin. One of the biggest challenges in this project was prefabrication. The building was a historic building, and the walls were neither perpendicular nor parallel. The effort paid off, as cutting the truss elements on-site, where, for example, the rafters had a cross-section of 16×28 cm, were almost 9 meters long, and each rafter had flashings in a different location and with different dimensions, would have been not only technically challenging but also time-consuming and error-prone. We were told it was impossible, that we should give up because it was pointless. We persevered, and thanks to the right tools (software and measuring equipment), as well as our knowledge and experience, we managed to complete the project.
The project included:
- building geometry inventory
- production of structural elements machined on CNC machines
- delivery and assembly of structural elements
- delivery and assembly of roof decking
